Creighton is an 8 on the SPI scale. However, last year's score of a 9 is what we were told was used to warrant our inclusion on the take over list. We were downgraded, we made progress and still we were chosen! Add to that the fact that for a turn around charter's first year, they only have to be rated an 8 on the SPI. Therefore, whoever takes us over, doesn't have to make any growth!
We are still fighting!
We have the support of State Representative Cohen and Councilwoman Tasco. We applaud their help.
We are asking all Notebook readers to email the SRC members and urge them to stop the vote and allow ample time to thoroughly examine the process.
Second, members of the Creighton Staff have written their own proposal giving the district another option to examine instead of a take over. Implore the SRC to seriously take our proposal into consideration! Every voice counts!
