Governor in town; activists to protest

Today Governor Corbett is scheduled to give a speech to the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and several activist groups plan to protest the event. Corbett will be speaking at the Prince Music Theater, and the protest is planned for 4-6:45 p.m.

Groups are protesting Corbett's proposed budget, which slashes funding for education, general assistance, and medical assistance. The protest is being convened by Decarcerate PA,  Teacher Action Group, Coalition Advocating for Public Schools, ACT UP, Occupy Philadelphia, and Fight for Philly.
