School closings forums resume with focus on neighborhoods, schools

The Philadelphia School District will be resuming its series of community meetings tonight about the unprecedented plan to close 37 schools. Last month's set of meetings, intended to address broader questions and reactions to the proposal and gather the public's input, often became forums for airing the community's ire and dissent. The nine meetings this month will focus on specific neighborhoods and schools, grouped according to their location in defined planning areas

The first meeting, one of two in the North-Central planning area, will be held at Dobbins High School and can be viewed live here, starting at 6 p.m. The full schedule of January meetings is below.
