Darryl Murphy, a South Jersey native and Temple University English student, joined the Notebook staff this month as a part-time reporter.
Murphy distinguished himself as an intern this summer in the Notebook office, covering education news, feature stories, and events related to the Democratic National Convention. Before joining the Notebook, he wrote for the Temple News’ op-ed section.
When he is not writing, Murphy likes to read, cook, and practice French. He loves hip-hop and is an avid podcast listener. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His ultimate goal is to travel the world as a writer, then, when he gets old, settle down and teach.
The new, part-time position was created through the generosity of Notebook members and funders. Donate today to make sure the Notebook continues its award-winning education reporting.
