Response to the May 5 blog post, “Cinco de Mayo: Books that demonstrate the contributions of a talented, hardworking people,” by Robin Muldor-Engram.
When children are read to and learn to read at an early age, the desire to read will usually last a lifetime. With all the electronic gadgets available that attract and distract our children, it is important now more than ever to make sure that reading books remains a vital part of the learning process.
Teaching children about other cultures and embracing differences without prejudice is wonderful. Robin, I believe you do great work and have blessed the lives of many children in the process.
