The school-to-prison pipeline – the increasing patterns of contact that students have with the juvenile and adult criminal justice systems as a result of practices implemented by educational institutions – will be the topic of discussion at the Free Library of Philadelphia on Oct. 16.

The library will host the event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Parkway Center Library, room 108, at 1901 Vine St. Deborah Gordon Klehr, executive director of the Education Law Center, will lead the discussion, diving into the policies that have resulted in students leaving school and making decisions that lead to employment insecurity, impoverishment, and incarceration.

The event is free, but those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by visiting schooltoprison_flp.eventbrite.com.
