Changes coming to the Newsflash

by Wendy Harris on Jul 28 2011

The Notebook has been publishing its e-newsletter, the Newsflash, for nearly a decade. We wanted to alert you to some changes to the Newsflash and ask for your feedback on the best way to share our hard-hitting news stories with you.

The Newsflash has been a monthly product sent to subscribers to our email list and posted on our website providing:

  • a “main scoop,” an originally reported news story,

  • a list of highlights from the monthly School Reform Commission meetings, and

  • a calendar of education-related events in and around the city.

With our growing capacity to do investigations and report breaking news (meet our new staff reporter, Benjamin Herold), we have a lot of information to share with you and want to do it in the most effective ways possible.

We need your feedback:

  • How you have been using the newsletter?

  • What are some things you’d like to see done differently?

  • How do you find out about education news—email, a news site, Twitter, Facebook?

  • Would you like to see a new design that’s more eye catching, bold, and colorful?

  • Are there certain types of content that you think she be given more focus?

  • How often would you like to receive an email newsletter?

While we work on crafting our new Newsflash, we’re going to send you email updates on timely news stories from our website instead of a monthly newsletter.

We value your opinion, so leave us a comment and look for changes – maybe even some as a result of your suggestions - coming this fall.

Love the Newsflash but agree its time for a revamp. Does the Notebook have a twitter feed? Looked on your Facebook page but couldn't find one.

Twitter account coming soon (you can bookmark the account though, @PSNotebook). Any suggestions on how to improve the Newsflash? Thanks for your feedback!
