Books & chocolate event: 'The Networked Teacher' book release party is Oct. 6
by Samuel Reed III on Sep 30 2011 Posted in Class notes
Kira Baker-Doyle, author of the book The Networked Teacher (and a Notebook member), is hosting a book-release event on Thursday, October 6 at 7 p.m. at the Big Blue Marble bookstore (551 Carpenter Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19119)
As a part of series of posts that focus on the power of teacher networks, I am currently collaborating on reviewing this book with some Philadelphia Writing Project teacher consultants.
I will attend this book-signing and release “party,” which is being dubbed as an evening of literary schmoozing and chocolate-tasting (Kira is providing treats).
The Networked Teacher, published by Teachers College Press, offers action guides to help teachers become intentional networkers, including a companion website with tools for networking and collaboration.

I wish I was part of this event too, I know how important this book release was for the Kira Baker-Doyle. This is the kind of event that could also easily endorse sell used textbooks actions. We should do more when it comes to literacy.
