McGregor Armbrister resigns; Houstoun named to SRC

UPDATE: Gov. Corbett has nominated Feather Houstoun to the School Reform Commission.
Another member of the School Reform Commission has resigned. In a statement, Secretary of Education Ronald Tomalis accepted the resignation and thanked Denise McGregor Armbrister for her service. Acting Superintendent Leroy Nunery also issued a statement thanking McGregor Armbrister.
McGregor Armbrister was nominated by then-governor Ed Rendell in 2007. Sources in Harrisburg have told the Notebook that Feather Houstoun will be the governor's second appointee. McGregor Armbrister issued a statement saying, "I believe there is a need to complete the transition to new leadership in the SRC."
With McGregor Armbrister's resignation, there is only one member left, Joseph Dworetkzy, who was on the SRC at the start of the year.
In February, commissioner David F. Girard-diCarlo resigned, and in September both SRC Chair Robert Archie and commissioner Johnny Irizarry resigned.
Gov. Corbett nominated Pedro Ramos to replace Girard-diCarlo in June, but the state Senate has yet to confirm his appointment. McGregor Armbrister's resignation opens the door for the Senate to confirm her replacement and Ramos at the same time.
Mayor Nutter appointed Wendell Pritchett, who is currently serving as interim chair until Ramos is confirmed and can assume his role as chair. Nutter also appointed Lorene Cary, who has yet to be sworn in.

McGregory Armbrister NEVER said anything and appeared to NEVER do anything. What were her qualifications other than students in public schools? (I assume Masterman or Central). If she was a financial expert, she should have at least alerted the powers that be to the budget crash.
She won't be missed because she appeared to do NOTHING.
