Anyone know whether the district is benefitting from these advertisements on the live stream?

The district uses the ad-supported version of the UStream service in order to be able to bring the public these live events over the Internet without having to pay for a commercial service. The district has no control over the content or source of the advertisements.

The District's proposal to close Gompers and Overbrook ES are ridiculous. The better option is to close Beeber and make the elementary schools K to 8 schools. There is room at Gompers to expand the school so that it could accommodate K through 8 because Gompers has a huge front lawn. For Overbrook ES, there is less room to expand. In this case, the District could purchase the former Our Lady of Lourdes School building and put the middle school students at that building. Sell the Beeber building. As several speakers at the meeting mentioned, there would be much less resistance to closing Beeber than to closing one or both of the elementary schools.

Some really impressive kids speaking at this meeting. Most convincing arguments yet in my view!
