Honoring a teacher of the month

By thenotebook on Nov 22, 2013 12:05 PM

The District has begun honoring a teacher of the month. Jennifer DePalo, a 3rd grade teacher at Lewis Elkin Elementary, received the commendation at last night's School Reform Commission meeting.

The Teacher of the Month award was presented along with a recorded video from a student, adding a bit of schmaltz to the typically bureaucratic fare of SRC meetings. In the above video, set to a karaoke-style backing of "Wind Beneath My Wings," is student Alexianie Negron sharing why she thinks Ms. DePalo is the best.
