HANDS FOR PEACE: Students from Parkway Northwest High School for Peace and Social Justice participate in a fence-climbing exercise to build trust during a school orientation session held in August at Fellowship Farm, in Pottstown, Montgomery County. The new high school, dubbed the "Peace School," opened in September in what was formerly Parkway Northwest at 7500 Germantown Avenue. It was established by the School District in collaboration with Philadelphia Citizens for Children and Youth, with support from a number of other local organizations. Along with a rigorous, college preparatory academic curriculum, students will be taught conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to effect positive change locally and globally.
