Universal Institute Charter School book fair
Universal Institute Charter School students (from left) Agra Dansyik, Kenneth Parker, Jr., Malik Dawan, and Kysheef Thomas show off the robot they built at a book fair held at Barnes & Noble Center City in November. The school’s robotics team is developing robots for a competition that will be held by the District this spring and used the book fair as a fundraising opportunity. For customers who mentioned the school’s name at the counter, 25 percent of the purchase price was donated to the charter school. The school raised $400 through the event.
