Sankofa Freedom Academy

Mission Statement:
We are dedicated to increasing literacy and numeracy levels throughout the community and promoting respect for scholarship, servant leadership, conflict resolution, and personal, social, and environmental responsibility. Our school engenders students, staff, and the community with a love for learning, respect for scholarship, pride in heritage, and a commitment to personal and societal transformation.
Accredidations and Awards:
Carver Science Fair honorable mention, 2013; Carver Science Fair winners, 2010-2012; Regional Black History Bowl, 2012; Citywide Reading Olympics, 2011-2014; Constitution Debate Champion, 2013; Citywide Debate Finals, 2012, 2013

High percentage of Class of 2013 successfully completed freshman college year; international service projects in Ecuador, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Gambia–West Africa, Ethiopia; 6-week social action internships for seniors
