Swenson Arts and Technology High School

Mission Statement:
To prepare students for careers, apprenticeships, and post-secondary studies offering challenging academic and career programs in a safe supportive learning environment. All Swenson students complete a challenging career program major tied to industry standards with exit assessments and certifications empowering them to become lifelong learners and productive members of society.
Accredidations and Awards:
Pennsylvania Department of Education Certificate for Growth in Career and Technical Education, 2013-14 and 2014-15; 2014-2015 culinary and auto students scored 95% proficient or advanced; NOCTI scores average 79% competent and advanced overall in programs of study; 341 industry certifications issued to students in 2014-2015; student internships with District Council 21, Agusta Westland, and City of Philadelphia Fleet Management; award-winning students participate in career and technical student organization competitions in Philadelphia surrounding counties
Points of Pride:
Successful JROTC program; award-winning Girls’ Track team for the last 6 years; all sports teams made the playoffs, 2014-15; partnerships with Philadelphia Academies, Burns Engineering, WHYY, and State Farm; dedicated faculty and staff
