If the basics were paid for - pens, paper, etc. - I'd say a SmartBoard in every classroom, along with a digital projector. These valuable tools - now commonplace in suburban classrooms - would help bring our classes into the 21st Century.

Air conditioning wouldn't hurt either - it would help keep the kids on task during the summer. They're struggling to stay awake/control themselves in this sweltering heat.

Teacher...I agree with you on that...Smartboards...let's bring these schools to the 21st century...and all that...yes, yes...of course...and, how it has worked in the School of the Future...now there is a well-funded school that has all the high-tech gadgets and it is quite a success...isn't it...?

Geez, you don't want much, do you? Air conditioners, ingrate! Why we just unbolted your windows for you last year. Remember when the district bolted shut every other windown in every classroom throughout the district after that sub lost three of her fingers? Decreased lawsuits 50% with that stroke of genius. Now be grateful for the free air we've given you or we'll make you start sweeping up your own floors with your own broom.

The only thing missing at the School of the Future are laserswords for the teachers to protect themselves.
