The U.S. Census region known as PUMA 04105, highlighted in red above, covers Kensington and Eastern North Philadelphia.

The U.S. Census calls it Public Use Microdata Area (PUMA) 04105, but Philadelphians know Kensington/Eastern North Philly as a collection of neighborhoods like Port Richmond, West Kensington, and Juniata Park. The area is home to roughly 163,000 people – just over 10 percent of the city’s total population; 46% are Hispanic. Over half of the area’s households earn less than $28,000 a year. Kensington/Eastern North Philly is home to almost 13,000 young adults (ages 20-24). Roughly 3,000 are high school dropouts.

All data from American Community Survey Averages, 2006-2010.
